Fun fact of the day: when you set your thermostat back 10-15 degrees for eight hours a day, you will save nearly 10% a year on your heating & cooling bills! The first step in this money-saving action plan is to make sure you have a programmable thermostat. If you haven’t upgraded your current HVAC (heating, ventilating & air conditioning) system to a programmable interface, Steel T can install one for you in as little as an hour. For more information about programmable thermostats and how they can save you money on your energy bills.
Of course, it is not necessary that you have a programmable thermostat in order to save the 10% (on average $200 a year) – but let’s face it – it will make your life so much easier. We here at Steel T prefer to lower the temperature during the night when everyone is asleep; however you can time the adjustment to happen as soon as you leave in the morning for work. The most important thing is to figure out what works best for you and then do it! Why wouldn’t you? The average American spends $1,900 a year on electricity bills, start your savings now!
